The Rule of the Material World: EVERYTHING has value.

For the majority portion of human history, the Universe, the Planets and specifically our Earth were such vast and overwhelming concepts that we opted to worship them and their complexity in lieu of being able to understand them.  As our educated intelligence and awareness grew, we began to tackle bigger concepts and understand scientific inquiry, until one day we realized that we could fit the entire world into our conceptual brain.  In doing so, humanity has been able to globalize, harmonize and accomplish things that were utterly incomprehensible to historical human thought.  We have gained such knowledge of the power of our ideas, we seem to embrace them also without serious philosophic inquiry.  The terrible downside to this is that we've built our society upon certain concepts that defy Universal Laws, and in doing so, we are subject to our own destruction.  We must abide by our physical realities, and right now in human history, we are ignoring these truths.

What are Universal Laws? They are the rules by which not only our world operates, but all that we know inside the Universe.  Physics, chemistry, interactions of energy... all of these laws are applicable to planetary motions, cellular functions and atomic interactions.  These laws are inescapable (with respect to the fact that we can potentially grow to transcend some of these laws).  Gravity is a great example.  No matter where you are in our Universe, New York City, floating in outer space, or meditating on a mountainside, you are subject of the physical realities of gravity.  We can transcend our understanding of gravity (e.g. a rocketship), but we cannot change its principle.  The Universal Law currently under scrutiny is: matter nor energy CANNOT be created out of nothing, they can only transform mediums (see Conservation of Energy/Matter).

This topic is one of great depth for me, so in an effort to open up the discussion, I will start with just one piece of this simple reality: our monetary system.  How are we violating this law?  By creating money "out of thin air".  The practice of creating a monetary system that bases its value upon the reputation (or "faith") of any government is a debasement of the concept of money, an entity meant to represent the physical value of an object, service, action, energy, etc.  We can either have a resource-based monetary system, or we have an emotional, non-physical monetary system, we cannot combine the two.

Money has been humanity's access to exchanging objects of value.  Coins have a representation of that value- somewhere, someone had to obtain, purify and produce this metal that can ultimately be reworked and become something else of value.  How much is your goat worth in my chiropractic adjustments?  Money allows us to transform these disconnected physical realities as a means of proper exchange.  Resources are the key factor behind any money.  This is why historical financial systems have allowed paper bills to represent a unit of commodity (typically gold or silver) held elsewhere (in a vault).

However, in 1971 Richard Nixon changed modern history by disconnecting the US dollar to any actual commodity (it was gold, see Nixon Shock).    Instead, the government promised to support the value of our dollars based solely upon the "good faith" of the government.  Why?  Too many people were trading their dollars in for actual gold, and we were going bankrupt (the Vietnam war pushed this issue).  Why was the good faith in our government a better solution?  Because faith is in infinite quantity! Government is an internal, human experiential reality.  Physical resources are not.  Even all of the sand on all of the beaches in the world has a finite quantity.  This changed our monetary policy from one based on physically real value into one based upon an assumption that there can be infinite value (faith) in material objects (things we can buy).  And so the imbalance begins.

The realm of thoughts and intellect are infinite.  This is the non-physical quality of the human experience.  Love can be infinite.  Patience, compassion, and soul-searching are experiences of being human that have no intrinsic monetary value.  By transmuting our monetary system of exchange of physical reality goods into a theoretical reality, we are essentially saying our money is not worth anything physically. Well if this is true, then we can then create as much money as we want!  Just print more!  Change some accounting, and loan out more!  Who needs to provide any more physical value, we can just hand out more of this meaningless paper that we only ASSIGN meaning to through our societal acknowledgement that it is "worth something".  We are creating more money without any more real value.  In a summary, before 1971, no matter the situation, one dollar was worth a specific amount of solid gold, a physical resource.  Since then, one dollar is not actually worth anything, but can only be used to exchange other things of value.  The potential spiral of downward sociological effects are tremendous.  It is no wonder so many of us buy stuff that has no instrinct value... we are converting all of our physical realities into a zero in order to exchange it with other things!

The amazing thing here is that no one alive currently thinks that we have infinite resources (save those psychologically deranged, and possibly in positions of power).  Air, water, trees, energy, and on... we all acknowledge that we have physically limited material realities, yet our social structure is built upon a false premise that we can continue to print as much money as we want to represent infinite physical value.  As soon as we attempt to monetize every aspect of human existence, our internal innate thoughts emotions and spirit, we lose.  There is no way to have infinite money, yet our system is built upon being able to print as much money as we need.  Or, as long as we continue to believe we're still "good" for the bill.

The problem is that the rest of the world is starting to not believe that we can pay out money on faith.  Greece, Ireland and Portugal have all said "Just give us more paper bills, and we will be able to pay it back with our future economic surplus."  Really?  Trading physical effort for useless money?  The United States, by the way, is headed towards this quickly.  The "debt ceiling" of the USA is really just an arbitrary point where our Congress states "anything above this and people will be skeptical about us being able to pay it back".

As long as we deny the Universal Law that we cannot create matter nor energy, and have a monetary system where we can print as much money as we think the faith in our government can handle (not based upon our physical resources), we are imbalanced.  This human error will FORCE a UNIVERSAL correction.  It is beyond ability to avoid, no matter what the talking heads say.  Unless...

Well, I write this post today in an effort to end the whirlwind of what seems to be an emerging global catastrophe.  We, humans, must address the causes for our situation.  For me, this financial policy is one of the major factors that needs immediate solutions.  It can be done.  We can change our financial policy, as made evident by the changes in 1971.  The only problem is that those in power (including the USA as a whole) would have some very uncomfortable changing to do.  The other option is to let the Universe correct itself.  I cannot say that the Universal option will be any easier to handle.

One must start somewhere...

For several years now, I have considered starting a blog that honors the "a-ha" moment.  In my best understanding, the thoughts in this moment are the natural synthesis of our analytical, highly educated minds and our inner, universal knowledge.  They are struck in wild moments with clairvoyance.  Having considered it enough, I submit this first thot without any evidence to prove it true (yet).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pavlov made his namesake contribution to Western culture through his experiments with his dogs.  He reasoned that the brain has a physical portion that responds to psychological stimuli to cause a physiological changes in the body.  Hear bell, see food, drool.  Hear bell enough with food, every time a bell rings, we drool.  Since then, this discovery has been used to justify human behavior in too many instances to count.
But what if this "reaction to our food bell" concept is nothing more than a uniquely dog behavior?  Who is to say that instead of this causing a "repeat" pattern in our brain, that it would rather be a "prompt" signal to our consciousness?  Do we often choose the same pattern in our life when presented with any prompt?  Well, that is a personal answer, but my guess for most people is "yes."  (This begs a comparison between the conscious awareness of a dog compared to a human, but my thot is not digging into that debate.)  So here we have a cultural "out" for all of us choosing non-action and ignorance, leaving the mechanism of our patterns to choose reactions for us.  Then, we just play off of our own reactions.  In a way, this leads to the loss of our entire power as a person and a species.
"Let's just see where this neurological reflex pattern takes us, and then we'll decide how to react!"
In Universal law, we are either the source of power for our lives through active, conscious choice, or we are not.  There is no room for inbetween.  Just as if our planet were to be struck by an asteroid, we are either able to survive it or not, there is no inbetween.  When given a prompt in our human thoughts (aren't all thoughts human thoughts), we repeat patterns.  Sometimes, the action we choose is the same/similar to ones we've made before.  To what degree are we stuck/addicted to these patterns?  Have we settled to the mirrored pattern of our canine companions?
I can hear it now: Isn't this a good thing? Sure, as long as that pattern suits us, it is beneficial to repeat.  We like to have a patterns for starting a car.  Is we didn't have this pattern, using a car becomes extremely difficult.  Is there a level of awareness that is given up by not acknowledging a car, sending it positive vibrations daily, and the other wonderful things to be found from powerfully present awareness? Well, after we thinking about it, do you want to do this the next time you walk out to your car?  So is it a good thing?  Yes, but not necessarily always.
To this end, I find more and more evidence to suggest that the "control" of our destiny and future as a species feels more and more like that "neurological reflex pattern" is leading our human ship towards a large waterfall.  What if we taught to recognize our thought patterns to be malleable to the present, instead of biologically bound to a behavior?  What would change for you as an individual?  What might change for us as a species?
Does this mean that all of the physiological evidence we have to validate the mechanism changes?  Probably not.  How would one find out any truth to test this?  A test for this could be a comparison between active, channeled meditators and spiritualists, and a comparable sub-group that is entirely reactive (say, teenagers?).  Honestly, who has the time for this, and will its investigation alter the finding (those are so tough introduction questions to ask)?
Thots in response?
